Sleeping and waking servers

Why servers sleep, how to wake them and when a server runs non-stop.
When nobody has played for a few minutes, we save the world and free the resources. That is how servers can be free. The world, settings and players stay exactly as they were.
Who can wake a server

Waking is rate-limited (per player and per server) so nobody can wake someone else’s server in a loop. Starting usually takes a moment — the page refreshes by itself.
Sleep timers
Every plan has its own idle time after which the server sleeps:
